photo album scrapping:)

after my last paper purge, i sat with my box of printed pictures and wondered when and IF i would ever get them scrapbooked.
most of my prints are in 3-up albums and labeled by name: one album per kid, plus a NYC album and an US album. it isn't very pretty, but it works for me. i have LOTS and lots of "moment" type pictures were i just took random pictures that really had no story behind them. the 3-ups are perfect for those and it is good enough.
BUT.....
i still had a bunch of pictures that made no sense, rhyme or reason.
trying to get them organized and viewable was a nightmare and the photos were just stuck in an archival box.
enter: project LIFE...again:)
i found this photo album @ kohl's and i thought it would work.
man, did it ever!!!

i am not doing a "proper" 365 type project life book, so i have LOTS of leftover supplies.
these cards are from the clementine kit.

i grouped the pictures as well as i could...trying to be comprehensive.
it works:) YAY for me!

the journaling is just snippets of memories that i thought would be neat for the kids to have.
and once it is done...it is finished and that will be that:)

for project lifer's:)

i am embracing project life 1,000% this year.
everything that i scrapbook that is current will be in my project life binders.
it is cool to look back and see what i have already done and i am excited to see what develops:)
the following little template is a vertical layered 4x6 that you can use in PS and PSE.
after you finish it you can print and include in YOUR project life:) YAY!

download file here:

and this is my completed little page. cool right? i have seen these templates all over the internet and thought it would be cool to make my own.
title brush and tag from karla dudley's cypris kit.

project life-ing:)

this year i am simplifying a little bit more in my documenting.
all of my 8x8 album space is almost filled up and i am feeling a need to minimize this year.
enter project life.

i used marcy penner's planning templates to get my pictures printed.
soooooo much easier.

i am also planning to do a 6x6 page collage to cut down on my printing. all my pages will be going into  12 x12 albums (just because i have space already dedicated to these).
these are my pictures all cut up and ready to go.

journaling card:)

and an overview of the finished layout. i am not doing a 365 type album, but i am taking pictures during the month and recording the things we do.
i think it is working:)

pieces of my project life

my project life this year is going to be about just that: LIFE!
after the christmas day layout i had a pile of my own school pictures i wanted to scrap.
and i thought....what better way to make sure they are included that purring them into my project life album?
and that is just what i did....and i LOVE it.
i am using the clementine core kit and a box of variety page protectors.
project life is TOTALLY what you want it to be:)

working project life:)

i printed out the pictures.

christmas eve

a little close-up.

christmas day. we didn't take many pictures because we wanted to be in the moment with the girls:)

my corner chomper is the bestest thing ever:)

a little experiment with printing a 12x12 page @ 4x4 to include inside the actual layout.
and just like that my christmas is DONE:)
this year i am trying to make things a little more simple.
making 10 million pages a month is just not cutting it.
let's see how it works out:)

project life, my way:)

my binder. costco office supply brand, it works:)

cutting down pictures and making it work.

a birthday spread all about little me. notice, NO chronology:)

tabs to distinguish one thing form the other.

a spread about sleeping babies:) these pictures were all in a box.

a view of my table right now.
right now, i am all about getting pictures and stories down.
my oldest daughter's friend just lost her mom, so it is really driving things home for me.
it is all about documenting...and it is all good.

Project Life: second batch of pictures

more of my little kid pictures.

it is a good feeling to get all my memories on paper.

because i always want to remember who i was, so i can become who i was meant to be.

Project Life: first pages:)

i am tackling a BIG project this year.
the thought of doing this project has almost paralyzed me.
i finally decided that i had to get it done. the years are passing and the memories are getting fuzzier and fuzzier.
of course, i have the yuckiest pictures ever...being a child of the 70's and all.
this is a small sampling of the pics:

lots of those reddish/yellow 70's prints that match absolutely NO traditional scrapbooking supplies.
this is my solution.

i ordered a project life because i was not sure if i wanted to do a project 365 or not.
the moment i ordered it, i knew i was not going to use it for the intended.

i cropped the picture a little before i used them...but that's ok, because i scanned them first, just in case.

i added a few letter stickers from my stash and used a sheet of the 12x12 paper for additional photo mats.
all done and in less than an hour with minimum effort.
YAY becky higgins:)!
